About Us: First opened in 1993, the Southern Indiana Surgery Center exhibits the vision of excellent local surgeons for quality care in a cost-effective and efficient outpatient facility. Our Center offers four operating rooms with some of the area's most advanced surgical equipment, two endoscopy/minor rooms and a comfortable pre and postoperative area.

What to expect:

• On arrival you will be greeted by a member of our Business Office dedicated to ensure a friendly and efficient experience. The majority of patients complete registration in the surgeon's office, so admission staff will simply confirm your information in just a few minutes.
• A member of the Nursing Staff will escort you to the preoperative area to prepare you for surgery. At that time you may meet with your surgeon, anesthesiologist and operating room staff. We do our best to safeguard your privacy and in most cases will allow your family members (limit of 2 at a time) to be with you prior to your procedure.
• Following surgery, your surgeon will meet privately with your selected family or friends. At an appropriate time, a nurse will bring them to your bedside.
• Our patients go home the same day; however, in rare cases, if your postoperative condition requires a prolonged or overnight stay, a transfer agreement with Bloomington Hospital ensures that you will continue to receive the best care possible.

Fees:
All medical insurance claims will be completed for you at our facility. A financial counselor is available to privately discuss any questions you may have regarding payment for your care.  You will receive a bill directly from the Southern Indiana Surgery Center, not from Bloomington Hospital. Call 812.333.8969 with billing questions. We accept most insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
