Julie Meek, BSN, CN4, PCCN, Charge Nurse for 2-North
Julie started her nursing career with Bloomington Hospital as a night-shift Float Nurse after she received her ASN degree from Indiana State University. She went on to obtain her BSN from Indiana State, and has received her PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse). Julie currently serves as a Charge Nurse for 2-North and has also worked as a Charge Nurse for 3-North.
Julie has achieved a ranking of CN-4 in the hospital’s Clinical Ladder program. The Clinical Ladder is a program for the clinical (bedside) Registered Nurse to receive recognition for the knowledge, quality performance and level of experience in his/her chosen field of practice.
Julie says her favorite part of nursing is being able to help make people feel better and make a difference in their lives. Julie also enjoys getting to know the patients and their families. 2-North is a great unit with a great staff that works well together. She would like everyone to know that the nurses at Bloomington Hospital will do the best job they can do and that our staff strives for excellence. Julie is very passionate about nursing, and patient care is always her foremost concern. She strives for best practice personally and is instrumental in leading the hospital to best practices. She is an active participant in the Clinical Informatics Council, as well as the Nurse-Pharmacy Committee and she never hesitates to speak her mind in the interest of better patient care.
Linda Bellamy, RN, BSN, Charge Nurse, Pre-Op Surgical Services
Linda started her nursing career 27 years ago after receiving her BSN from Ball State University. Linda has used her nursing skills in many positions since starting at Bloomington Hospital almost 25 years ago, including medical/surgical nurse, float nurse and Special Care Nursery and Post Partum unit.
Linda found her home in Pre-Op Surgical Services 20 years ago, and has never looked back. Linda says she loves working with a very professional, competent, caring and dedicated staff.
When asked about her favorite part of nursing, she says, “Knowing that the care I deliver to my patients has a great impact on their positive and safe surgical outcome.” Linda says that she is proud to be a part of an institution that provides high quality and comprehensive care.
She says, “Our health-care team is organized, efficient and conveys a genuine caring attitude to all. We strive for EXCELLENCE!!”
Linda was recognized by her peers for her excellence in nursing, receiving the Mildred B Kohr Award in 2005.
